José María Cirujano

Iberdrola USA
José María Cirujano is vice president of operations for Iberdrola USA’s three operating companies—Central Maine Power, NYSEG and Rochester Gas & Electric—which serve more than 2.4 million customers across New York and Maine. In this role, he is responsible for leading the implementation of the expertise, best practices, processes and technology of the Iberdrola Group across the Iberdrola USA enterprise.
Cirujano has worked in the Iberdrola Group for more than 35 years, holding various leadership positions in electrical transmission and distribution. He was most recently Director de Región Madrid at Iberdrola Distribution Electrica, responsible for Madrid region operations, which serves more than two million customers.
He has also served as general manager of the Iberdrola Distribution Company in Bolivia before being elected to its board of directors.
Cirujano earned a master’s degree in electrical mechanical engineering from ICAI School of Engineering in Madrid, Spain.
