Hilda Rosario Escher, president and CEO of Ibero American Action League, was presented the 2012 New York State Women of Distinction award by Senator Joe Robarch (New York State Senate representative for the 56th Senatorial District).
Sen. Robarch wrote about Ms. Escher:
“Hilda focuses her efforts on strategic planning, developing leaders in her organization and being a change agent leading innovation. Since 1968 Ibero-American Action League has taken a leadership role in nurturing partnerships, services, and advocacy among the community to meet the needs of the Latinos in the Rochester area. Hilda has an extensive background in Human Services including: developmental disabilities, foster care, adoption, day care and employment and training services. She increased services substantially for the developmentally disabled in the inner city of Rochester.”
The ceremony took place on May 15 at the Legislative Office Building in Albany, NY. and it honored 59 outstanding women from all over the State of New York.
The New York State Women of Distinction is an initiative sponsored by the New York State Senate since 1998.
The event showcases outstanding women living and working in New York State whose contributions have greatly enriched the quality of life in their communities and beyond… A select group of women who represent the qualities of leadership, compassion, and diligence.
