RHBA members voted to approve the addition of two board members in the recent election. Results were tallied and announced at the annual meeting on Dec. 7.
Joining the board are Eugenio Marlin, president and CEO of Ibero-American Development Corporation and the 2017 Hispanic Business Person of the Year, and Fernan Cepero, chief human resources officer and chief diversity officer for the YMCA of Greater Rochester.
Under Marlin’s guidance, IADC was instrumental in developing El Camino Estates in Northeast Rochester. Marlin’s experience includes service as vice president of development and communications at Ibero American Action League and working with Julio Vazquez in conceiving and developing the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School, the first and very successful charter school in Rochester.
Cepero’s experience includes serving as employee development manager for Nestle Waters North America and human resource and employee development manager for Xerox Corporation. He currently is on the board of trustees for the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter School and a commissioner on the Civil Service Commission for the City of Rochester. In addition, he is an adjunct professor at a number of area colleges.
Also at the annual meeting, Grace Tillinghast was elected board chair. Re-elected to the board were: Sergio Esteban, Luis Martinez, Lisa Martinez-DeVinney, Luis Ormaechea, Jane Sutter and Vilma Burgos Torres. Long-time board member Kelly Tovar Mullaney opted not to remain on the board, and the board thanked her for her years of service, especially her work on the website and with social media. Mullaney plans to continue to be an active member of the RHBA.
