Keuka College President Emeritus to Address Rochester Hispanic Business Association
ROCHESTER, NY (September 11, 2018) The Rochester Hispanic Business Association, a Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce affiliate, announced Keuka College President Emeritus Dr. Jorge Díaz-Herrera as the keynote speaker for its Hispanic Business Person of the Year gala luncheon September 27. ESL Federal Credit Union Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Legal Director Arline Santiago is set to receive the 29th annual Hispanic Business Person of the Year award at the luncheon.
Díaz-Herrera became the 19th President of Keuka College on July 1, 2011. Prior to this appointment, he was Professor and founding Dean of the College of Computing and Information Sciences at RIT 2002-11; Professor of Computer Science and Department Head at SPSU in Marietta, GA, and Yamacraw project coordinator with
Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA; senior member of the technical staff and associate professor of software engineering at Carnegie Mellon’s Software Engineering Institute; associate professor of software engineering and department chair at Monmouth University in NJ; assistant professor of computer science at George Mason University in VA and at SUNY Binghamton in NY.
Díaz-Herrera has conducted extensive consulting services with a number of national and international firms and government agencies. He has serves, and has served, on various national and international technical advisory committees and governing boards. He has chaired several national and international conferences, and has been a technical reviewer for the National Science Foundation, the American Society for Engineering Education, and several conferences and journals. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief Journal of Applied Sciences and Art. He has more than 100 publications.
Díaz-Herrera completed his undergraduate education in Venezuela, and holds both a Master’s and Ph.D. in Computing Studies from Lancaster University, UK. He completed two graduate certificates in Leadership in Education from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Education in 2007 and 2011.
