Orlando Ortiz, the 2019 Hispanic Business Person of the Year, was named the 19th Minett professor at RIT. He becomes the seventh Hispanic to be so honored, and the fourth HBPOY.
Previously the following recipients of the RHBA Award to be named Minett professors were: Carlos Carballada (2010 HBPOY), Augie Melendez (2001 HBPOY), and Pete Otero (2011 HBPOY).
Orlando is a manager at Gleason Works and well known as the president of the Puerto Rican Festival in our community.
