Grace Tillinghast
Co-owner – The Battery
Grace Tillinghast, formerly a Kodak executive, left the corporate world in 2007 to work full time for the family business. Since 1983, she is co-owner of The Battery, the first indoor baseball, and softball training facility in Western NY.
Presently active in several groups and organizations in the community:
- Member of the Board of Trustees of Monroe Community College
- Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Arts and Cultural Council for Greater Rochester
- Co-Chair of the 2009 Arts Awards
- Chair of the scholarship committee of the Hispanic Scholarship Endowment Fund
- Board member of the Rochester Police Department Do the Right Thing Program
- Board Member of the Rochester Riverside Convention Center Corporation.
- Teaches basic Spanish to K-3 students at St. Pius Tenth School in Chili.
In addition to being 2003 Hispanic Business Person of the Year, Grace has received numerous awards and recognitions for her community involvement. Among them, 2002 Latinas Unidas Reconocimiento Award for Career Achievement, Certificate of Mayoral Recognition from Mayor Robert Duffy and most recently Volunteer of the Yearby the Ibero-American Action League. Grace is currently member of the RHBA Board of Directors.
