Join us for lunch with our guest speakers, Carlos Carballada and Ebony Miller, of the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship.
Carlos Carballada was appointed interim director for the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship (CUE) in March of 2014.
Carballada is the former neighborhood and business development commissioner for the City of Rochester, and also served as Acting Mayor from January to April 2011. He received the Hispanic Person of the Year Award in 2010 from the Rochester Hispanic Business Association and also served as the 2005 RIT Minett Professor—a one-year appointment which brings distinguished Rochester-area multicultural professionals to the RIT campus to share their knowledge and experience with students and faculty.
Carballada previously made his mark in the banking industry where he held key posts at M&T Bank, Rochester’s Central Trust Company and First National Bank of Rochester.
Ebony Miller was appointed program manager for the Center for Urban Entrepreneurship (CUE) in October of 2012. She is responsible for research, development, delivery and assessment of mission-related programming at CUE.
Prior to joining RIT, Ebony worked as program coordinator at the Urban League of Rochester’s Minority and Women Business Development Division where she assisted entrepreneurs with growing their business and aspiring entrepreneurs with identifying their needs.
Ebony earned a Bachelor of Arts in communications and a Masters of Arts in Informatics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
