Meet one of our Enhanced members:
Daisy Rivera Algarin
Director for the Neighborhood Service Center (NSC), City of Rochester, and Co-Founder Latinas Unidas.
The City of Rochester’s Neighborhood Service Center provides Street Liaison Services to commercial corridors. The Street Liaison is expected to deliver essential services to the business community within targeted commercial corridors found in their respective quadrants by providing access to information to support business growth, attracting new businesses and supporting economic development in neighborhood business corridors.
The mission of Latina Unidas is to foster opportunities that will promote unity, cultural identity and the presence of the Latina woman in the community; to encourage and motivate women to be self-confident to assume leadership roles to positively impact society. A key program that highlights businesses is our “Cafe con Leche” series. We co-host with Latina business owners a Cafe con Leche that will result in bringing customers to a local Latina-owned business and introduce women to Latinas Unidas.
What are you currently most excited about when it comes to your organization?
Introducing Latinas to our organization and promoting locally owned Latina businesses. The City’s Liaison program brings resource information to local businesses and and access to funding.
Why did you become a member of the RHBA and why should someone consider joining?
I support small businesses and also want to become more familiar with RHBA opportunities.
