Meet one of our Enhanced Members:
Henry I Padron-Morales
Co-owner with Pamela Bailie, Hipocampo Children’s Books LLC
We are a bookstore that sells books for children and adults ranging from NY Times bestsellers and industry recommendations to patron suggested titles. We sell books in langauges other than English, with a diverse Spanish collection. We belong to BASWA our neighborhood small business association in the South Wedge of ROC.
What are you currently most excited about when it comes to your organization?
We incorporate the experiences and network that we have established as celebrants of the rich tapestry that makes up our city and region. We consider language and culture, from a literary perspective, as integral to the health of our community. Our carefully curated collection that represents over thirteen linguistic groups has helped us develop into a literary hub for children and adults of all backgrounds. Our growing Spanish collection for both children and adults has become a beacon for Spanish speakers and new Spanish learners. We are excited to continue to develop our programs that focus on books, culture and the arts!
Why did you become a member of the RHBA and why should someone consider joining?
We became members of RHBA to support the organization. We look forward to meeting other Latine business owners in order to network, explore collaboration, and promote ourselves as the only Woman/Latine owned independent children’s bookstore in the City of Rochester and the region of Up-State N.Y. One should consider joining RHBA in order to maximize local as well as regional collective potential as Latine business owners.
