Raquel Singletary, Program Manager Bilingual for the Alzheimer’s Association of Rochester & the Finger Lakes, will lead our November lunch series event, bring to us a presentation on The Power of Memory: How Latino Leadership Can Change the Future of Brain Health. Raquel will connect the importance of brain health, community leadership, and cultural legacy in the Hispanic community.
Raquel Singletary is a dedicated advocate and leader with over 30 years of experience serving diverse communities in Greater Rochester. As Program Manager Bilingual for the Alzheimer’s Association of Rochester & the Finger Lakes, she provides education, resources, and support to families affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, with a special focus on underserved populations.
A champion for Latino older adults, Raquel previously led the region’s only Hispanic-based senior center, doubling its size and expanding essential services—an effort recognized with the organization’s President’s Award. She also serves on the University of Rochester’s Community Advisory Board for Alzheimer’s Research, advocating for Latino caregivers, and teaches in Lifespan’s Elder Abuse Prevention Certificate Course.
Beyond aging services, Raquel is President of Latinas Unidas, Inc., empowering and celebrating Latina girls and women through leadership and advocacy. An ordained reverend with an associate degree in Chaplaincy, she integrates spiritual care into her community work.
Honored by the City Council of Rochester and the Latino Rotary Club, Raquel continues to lead with passion for equity, inclusion, and community connection.
